THE NEW MERCEDES-BENZ A-CLASS WILL ALSO BE PRODUCED IN KECSKEMÉT

It was announced in Amsterdam on February 2nd 2018 that the production of the new Mercedes-Benz A-Class would be launched in Kecskemét this spring. The new generation model was introduced by Chairman of the Board of Management of Daimler AG and Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars Division Dr. Dieter Zetsche. The new compact class model is equipped with the most modern technologies.
The production of the new Mercedes-Benz compact car will be launched in five production facilities on three continents in the year 2018. These locations are the plants in Rastatt, China, Finland, Mexico and, from this spring on, in Hungary as well. At the show in Amsterdam introducing the new model the plant in Kecskemét was said to be of special significance.
The plant that was opened in March, 2012 in Kecskemét is the first Mercedes-Benz passenger car manufacturing plant in Europe outside Germany. The 500,000th car produced at the plant rolled off the assembly line in February, 2016. In addition to the B-Class the plant manufactures the CLA and CLA Shooting Brake models, which are produced exclusively in Kecskemét and ship to all the countries worldwide. From the year 2018 on the new A-Class will join the production palette of the plant in Hungary. The new A-Class, which has a sporty appearance, will be available from March, and it will enter the market this spring in Europe, including Hungary.
