The environmental initiative aimed at establishing a sand martin nesting wall at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Kecskemét was recognized with awards in both the Portfolio.hu Green Awards and Trade magazine’s Symbol of Sustainability competition. The project’s goal is to support the species’ conservation by creating a safe nesting site, while also helping researchers monitor and study the population. In recent years, sand martin numbers have declined significantly, and the successful implementation of the rescue project was acknowledged with two awards: the Symbol of Sustainability recognition in the CSR Environment category at Trade magazine’s competition, and the Board’s Special Prize at the Green Cloud and Portfolio Group’s Green Awards 2025.
