Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Hungary Kft. had an outstandingly successful previous year, with the production of as many as 190,000 cars in Kecskemét, which is a 3,8% increase compared to the figure from the year before. The income of the company with the surplus above EUR 3,4 billion exceeds the rate in the year 2015. As an employer and company, the corporation paid taxes and duties in the value of EUR 24 million to the Hungarian state and the local government of Kecskemét.
In 2016 the management made decisions about several important investments as well, including the expansion of the present plant and the construction of a new, second factory, too. Thanks to the EUR 580 million investment the new, modern body shop hall will be ready in 2018. With the construction of the second plant, Mercedes-Benz will create 2500 new jobs in Hungary. Mercedes-Benz Hungary Kft. achieved a very successful year as well in 2016 with its turnover of nearly HUF 80 billion it saw an increase of 30% in comparison to the year 2015.
