PRODUCTION RESUMES AT THE MERCEDES-BENZ PLANT IN KECSKEMÉT

After a break of several weeks caused by the Coronavirus pandemic, Mercedes-Benz will gradually resume production at its Kecskemét plant from 28 April 2020. During the gradual start of production, the work will be carried out first in a one-shift and later in a two-shift work schedule.

The main goal of the factory is to maintain the health of its employees even after the resumption of production, so new hygiene and preventive measures have been introduced to protect the colleagues. Each employee of the factory received an information booklet about the new rules and information introduced. On the first working day, everyone will also be informed about the introduced measures during a compulsory education.

The company has sent washable masks to all its employees, so they can already arrive at the factory with it on the first working day. The rules for entering the factory site have changed. Employees arrive in work clothes and safety shoes and must keep a distance of at least 1.5 meters when standing in line. During the downtime, the production workstations were redesigned to consider the minimum safety distance of 1.5 meters and the work processes themselves were adapted accordingly to this, too. On workstations where a distance of 1.5 meters cannot be maintained, workers must wear a mask or wear goggles or a Plexiglas mask. The cleaning service regularly disinfects and cleans the factory area.
